Pepperoni Ice Cream

So, Schmoops and I went down to LA for his 30th Birthday (!!) and had a super happy time. As much as I want to write-off LA as being superficial and annoying and all-around horrible, I just love it every time I'm there. Yes, the traffic sucks. But it's still pretty freaking awesome. We have great friends there, a nice warm beach for volleyball (G) and running (me), and everyone really seems genuinely happy there.

I was able to get there quite a bit earlier than expected because the earlier (slightly more expensive) flights had openings, so I snuck on one through stand by. Unfortunately I wasn't flying Virgin, and other airlines just seem so defunct to me after being spoiled by the holiness that is Virgin America. The party was fun, but I must say the whole going out while pregnant scene is getting old. Fast. It's fun at first, but the later it gets, the more tired I get, and the drunker everyone else gets. It's not always that fabulous a combination. Especially when I was not fed an adequate dinner. But that's a different story. Anyway, I have refused to succumb myself to being one of these boring pregnant girls who doesn't do anything fun anymore, but seriously guys, I'm tired! Even thought I'm not sick anymore, I still am not suitable for social situations after 11. 12 at best if I took a good nap prior. I take that back, because it's a total lie in the vain hope of not looking completely lame. 10 or 11 tops with a good nap.

Speaking of being preggers, when's this whole pickle ice cream with pepperoni craving thing going to start? I'm ready to guilt trip Gerard into making ridiculous grocery runs and grossing people out at every turn. Let's hop to it! I'm full of just normal people eating habits and it's slightly blase.

March in like a Lion

So, for lack of anything better to discuss, I'm going to describe my upcoming month. Because it is ridiculous to the point of laughable. Keep in mind I'm sparing you the multiple dr. appointments, meetings, and other goings ons. And I'm not mentioning I finally get to see Wicked(!), and that I think I might go to a dooce book signing as well...These are just the biggies:

March 6: G's 30th Bday!!
March 6-8: Fly to LA to celebrate said Bday
March 12-16: Amy and Baby Hazard come to SF and stay with us!
March 18:22: Fly to Nashville. Match Day on the 19th! We finally figure out where we'll be living next year. Kind of a big deal.
March 23: Ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby!! Also kind of a big deal
March 24-25: Fly back to LA to see Joe take on Jeopardy!

If that's not a busy 3 weeks, then I just don't know what is. Basically I'll either be updating a lot because so much will be happening, or not at all because I won't be home. Only time will tell...

Gerard can't complain about Kota's dreams anymore

I've watched this video no less than 17 times since dooce posted it this morning.

Baby Names

So, if you ever want to waste- no, devote several hours out of your life to looking about and thinking of baby names, I have the most perfect tool for you: http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager

This little diddy gives you instant line graphs of the popularity of whatever name you type in. So you can visually see the trends wax and wane through the past decades. Then, you can click on the NameMapper tab. Here, you get to see which states had your chosen name in the top 100 in the last 50 years. It's kinda funny to see name trends that hit a certain geographical area but not the rest of the country. It's our goal to find a unique, but not too crazy, name, so these lists are vital to us. We basically don't want our name to be a regular in the top 100 anywhere. Ever. There's a NameFinder I haven't given a chance yet, but the Namipedia tab is also super great. Here, you can type in your name, and other bored Mamas rate these names, based on if it sounds smart, friendly, sophisticated, etc. What's cooler is, that it gives sibling suggestions submitted by people that know kids (or adults) by that name, and what their siblings are named.

So, as of yesterday, I have my boy's first name officially picked out. I think I have the girl's name, too, but I'm a little more open to influence on the girl. Anyway, I type in the boy's name, and one suggested sibling name is a longer version of the girl's name we like! Crazy! And, when I type in the girl's name we like, a suggested sibling name is... Gerard!! It must be destiny.

FYI- for you stinkies who think you can search suggested sibling names for Gerard and deduct our girl name, it's not listed. So- HAH! You hafta wait til August, suckers...
